I decided to become an Internationally Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in 2011 after experiencing both the joys and difficulties of breastfeeding. I have a strong history of working in women’s healthcare and a passion for health education, so becoming an IBCLC seemed like the perfect fit for me. I was accredited as a La Leche League Leader in 2012 and have since helped many families on their breastfeeding journey. Currently, I co-lead the La Leche League Northeast Support Group and counsel mothers seeking lactation help.
In 2014, I helped found the Birth and Breastfeeding Alliance, a non-profit organization that provides free health education and support to San Antonio families. We coordinate Latch On San Antonio, the annual event that raises breastfeeding awareness and connects the growing community of breastfeeding families and their allies.
In 2015, I was awarded the Trudi Szallasi Memorial Scholarship, an international scholarship that covers the costs of a comprehensive study program in lactation and breastfeeding and preparation materials to study for my International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners exam.
In 2017, I earned my IBCLC certification. I am committed to helping families navigate their breastfeeding challenges and celebrate with them in their successes. It is my goal to help you achieve your breastfeeding goals, whatever they may be.
